Depending on the stickiness of the particular compound you choose yes, technically.

But it would add virtually 0 extra benefits while making the CPU harder to handle.

Not to mention if you use a electrically conductive compound and it happened to ooze out.

 

You're better off with a little silicone. If you concern is getting back in again then use less silicone.

I see..

I've got Thermal Grizzly Kyronaut and it has, quoting there website : " no electrical conductivity!!! "

So I think I'll use that. I'll see if it works.

I don't have any silicone or glue so..

EDIT: Do you think the fact that it will conduct heat from the IHS to the plastic is a problem ?
