Last year I switched to pc gaming and it was not at all how I was expecting. I bought a i5 8400 and a vega 56 and a 75hz monitor. My pc stuttered like crazy even today. This kind of drove me away from my pc and I started playing console again. Lately I have been wanting to go back to pc but the same problems were occurring even worse then before. I have heard that this may be due to my 75hz panel so I am planning on selling it and buying a 144hz. Is this a good decision. Will it fix stuttering and screen tearing?

Your monitor is likely not the culprit, you probably won't be much better off by selling it.

What games are you trying to play and at what settings? Also, what's your CPU, GPU, and HDD usage while gaming?

I play battlefield 5, metro exodus, overwatch, fh4. They are usually both around 90% when running battlefield 5

Battlefield 5 is a pretty CPU-intensive game, most people recommend at least 12 threads for it, so I can see how a Core i5 would struggle there.

How about you post your full specs?  It might be something else causing this.  Also make and model of the current monitor? Upgrading the monitor does not usually result in huge performance improvements on games.

CPU: Sempron 2500+ / P4 2.8E / P4 2.6C / A64 x2 4000+ / E6420 / E8500 / i5-3470 / i7-3770
GPU: TNT2 M64 / Radeon 9000 / MX 440-SE / 7300GT / Radeon 4670 / GTS 250 / Radeon 7950 / 660 Ti
