ASUS ROG Strix SCAR II GL504GV- Recommended?

I'm getting this in a week but I'm not sure if there's a better laptop for the same price (AUD $2,200). 
Specs:

- Intel Core i7-8750H

- 16GB 2666MHz RAM (from the advertisement it seems to be dual-channel, and I assume it's)

- 144Hz 1920x1080p IPS screen

- RTX 2060 6GB DDR6

- 256GB NVME

- 1TB Firecuda HDD

I'm mainly after a 144Hz screen and an RTX series card. Is this a recommended laptop for around this price? If not, what would be a better choice?

It's a good model, however there might be other good options. FYI it's equipped with single channel RAM (product page show dual channel but it isn't), therefore you might want to change the x1 16GB stick to x2 8GB

 

Any preference on weight and battery life?

Not too much of a preference, but the 15.6" is the biggest I'll go for. or battery life, if it lasts for at least 3 hours that's alright (assuming it can last longer if it's in a non-gaming state e.g. Word or PowerPoint).

I talked with the representative and they said this one has 2x8GB RAM

Alternatively you can consider Infinity S2060 (need to change dual channel) or Metabox Alpha-X NH58ED/RD for same/less price

There were Scorptec and PCCaseGear but they recently discontinued it (Scorptec just discontinued it today funnily enough), so MWave was the next best thing to go to. The Infinity has a 17.3" display, which is too big for me. Does the Metabox have a 144Hz screen?

It has close to 15 inch form factor

Yes, there are other customization such as dual channel RAM, Intel 9560 WIFI as well. I have reviewed this exact same chassis, you can check it out
