i'm interested in upgrading my GTX 970 card. it's good but i desire an upgrade. i was looking at a 1070 off craigslist between $220-$250 which is good. but i also looked into the 1660 Ti for $280. would it be best to just drop on a 1070 or dont risk and save up for that 1660 ti?

i know debating is ridiculous when gaming on 1080 but any incite would definitely be beneficial. thank you guys

They are pretty close in benchmarks.  The piece of mind of a new part with warranty for a new 1660 ti seems like it would be worth it in this case.  I have a 1070 in my system, I bought off ebay.  I've been happy with it, but I built before Turing came out.  If you do go with a 1070, I;d try to stay closer to the $220.

Not a worthy upgrade. Why go mainstream if your going to buy new so often?

Get a 2080 and upgrade again in 6 years. You'll have better performance and save money in the long run.

Skip two tiers or two generations, or don't upgrade.
