Did I fix an artefacting videocard?

SooWhat

So I just bought an artefacting gpu for its fans. Upon taking a look at it, it seemed like it had some minor rust on the back of the pcb. After scrubbing it off with a plastic brush and having almost all of the rusty area off ,I went to try it out if it was actually artefacting. Furmark worked fine for 5min and 3DMark is currenty running just fine (it finished just fine)

Am I just lucky to have it so easy?

Sometimes things just work that way. Looks like luck was on your side today. :)

It might come back, by the sound of it you cleaned some corrosion off. But without a proper cleaning and re solder it may come back but hey, even that type of repair isn't too bad if you know the infected area.

It MIGHT ;)

All jokes aside, it was properly (i repeat, properly) scrubbed and checked. Everything seemed in good condition but I wouldnt be too bummed about it still artefacting because as I said earlier, it was actually only bought for better fans for my other gpu.

Pretty nice, I was thinking it might have gotten corrosion on the pads under the solder joints.
