My brother-in-law is trying to upgrade his computer with some NVMe goodness, but running into issues.  From what I can remember, his build is:

Asrock B250M-HDV mobo

Intel G4560

MSI RX580 8GB

couple of sata HDDs

Anyway, everything's been working great for nearly 2 years.  But he picked up a Silicon Power M.2 NVMe to boost his overall performance a bit.  When he first installed it, he couldn't get it recognized at all.  He pulled the GPU out and tried it with the on-board graphics, and then it was detected, windows installed lightning fast, etc.  Now he's happy....until he puts the GPU back in.  With the GPU installed, the M.2 drive is not recognized or bootable, at all.

Nothing we've tried seems to allow the drive and the GPU to be installed at the same time.  His PSU is an XFX 550W which should provide enough power.

Anyone had any luck with this mobo and NVMe?  Is he going to have to get a M.2 SATA instead?  I can't believe that the M.2 pci-e would use the same lanes as the GPU... or is the G4560 the problem?

Any help/input is appreciated!
