Help with overclocking

I got my new pc few days ago and i'd like to overclock my 9700k. Since im a beginner in overclocking, i kinda need help. I followed a few guides on the internet but it seems that i kinda fail at some point because my pc crashed while stress-testing at 5.0ghz / 1.30v. So i increased the voltage to 1.4v but my ghz somehow stays at 3.6ghz while stress-testing.

If the system is unstable at 1.3v you have to up the voltage. I highly don't recommend exceeding 1.4v for daily use unless you have sufficient cooling and a decent motherboard. What board do you have? Also I'm no expert, I've only ever done OC'ing for fun.

It might be throttling because of high temps. Drop the multiplier with 1.3V till its stable.

a must have software when overclocking is HWinfo64, it monitors data such as voltage, load and temperatures. 3.6GHz could be the result of bios reverting to safe settings or overheating.

I did set thr voltage higher but the ghz somehow drops to 3.6ghz while stress testing. My cooler is H150i Pro and my mobo is aorus pro wifi

EDIT: i checked my cpu temperature after setting it to 4.7ghz/1.3v. The temp is 100. Did i do something wrong considering i have h150i pro?

Do i really need to drop the multiplier? I'd like to keep it at 5ghz because i know my cpu can reach it without a problem. Also i'm using H150i pro as cpu cooler.

I still havent checked the temp but im sure my h150i pro cab handle the oc. I'll look into that

How do you know? All you know is it keeps crashing or lowering clocks when you test it. Even stock 9700K is about 200W on avx loads so I would bet its either the cpu or motherboard overheating that is causing throttling. You need a good motherboard if you want to push cpu near 200W:s. 

This is with 1,345V. 1.4V might be close to 250W.

i checked my cpu temperature after setting it to 4.7ghz/1.3v. The temp is 100. I dont get it. I read somewhere that my cooler can handle 5ghz with the cpu. Did i do something wrong?

EDIT: My case fans and radiator fans seem to running at slow speed. I can hardly feel any air when I put hand directly infront of it

people tend to overestimate the capability of AIO coolers, if the temperature is 100C at 4.7 1.3v then you risk frying the chip at 1.4v. Some of the stress test will also exceed any real-world workload tremendously, like prime 95 avx fft. So I recommend lowering the voltage as long as it's stable (you likely don't need 1.3v for 4.7, try 1.25v), and use cinebench and aida64 to test it instead, there are so many problems going on here. The most important thing is to lower your voltage before you fry ur 9700k/vrm.

Blast them then. You can set fan/pump speed curve in the BIOS.

I did. still barely feel any air. I'll try to connect the fan directly to the psu instead of mobo

2x200mm front(cold air in), 1x140mm at the rear(hot air out) and top radiator(hot air out)-radiator inside case, fans outside case. All of these connected to mobo.

Im using h500m btw

Fans always blow towards the radiator. They aren't that good at pulling air compared to pushing air.

Cant fit fans and radiator together. But i will change airflow direction. Thanks for the tips
