Why is my Office 2019 installed in the Office 2016 file?

Hello,

 

Recently I've bought Office 2019 Professional and Visio 2019 from a Retailer. Today I tried to install both. After the installation I checked the preferences if everything is allright.

I've noticed that the installation path is at "C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\root\Office16\".

After that I chose to register my Product in my Microsoft Account and the MS Office 19 was shown without any problem or name issues.

Is it allways that way? Or is it because it just upgraded my old version to a 2019th version.

It legitimately doesn't matter, as long as it runs OK it's fine.

 

You could install it to C:\Program Files\Microsoft Sux\Officetwentybillion\ and it wouldn't care.

Looking on Wikipedia, Office 2016 and 2019 share major version number, latest 2016 version is 16.0.10325.20082 and 2019 is 16.0.11601.20204.

It's just a version thing it seems.

I think I asked the wrong question.
I wanted to know if the retailer could have scammed me. Because in last Office versions installed in new files.
