Anyone had luck trying to use a warranty on prebuilt (laptop) RAM from a name brand such as Samsung?

So I have a Asus ROG laptop that is out of warranty. (I actually bought the extended warranty from newegg because both it and the laptop were on sale but my freakin claim got denied because there is plastic case cracks/damage, even though I said in the notes it failed a memtest..and how does accidental damage happen to the ram sticks timings)

Anyway, the laptop has a 16GB Samsung DDR4-2400 stick in it.

I'd guess that prebuilt system components are usually not covered by the original warranty they'd receive as if they were individual consumer after they are sold for a prebuilt, but who knows.

So i'm asking: has anyone has ever had a component fail in their laptop and dealt directly with it's manufacturer?
