IEM's $75-$100 Maximum

Go to solution Solved by dantheton,

The shure are a safe bet if you want something similar to the ie80 at the price point.

Don't forget to use the affiliate link on whichever you buy, which I already linked. ;D

I'm looking for a good quality pair of IEM's that will last me many years of wear and tear in my pocket and messes of tangled wires. Linus's (or Linus') review of the Sennheiser IE80's is pretty much the perfect pair for me. Anything similar to the IE80's would be perfect. I don't need the adjustable bass because the price would exceed my budget. A decent warranty would be nice because some factors make my headphones break (dog, water/sweat, etc.).

For a very long or lifetime warranty, then I would be able to go above budget.

IE60's supposedly sound similar, as far as I've heard.

The Shure's have a detachable cable, which can improve longevity, but it is a cheap replaceable cable, which introduces another point of failure. Needless to say, I've heard mixed things about their durability.

I have had the SE215's for a little over 2 weeks now coming from a pair of broken Turbines.

I can say they are by far the most comfortable IEM I have tried and the isolation is amazing. Sound quality is very warm, but not as punchy as the turbines.

IMO, go for the Shures, the cable is really sturdy, replaceable and comfortable and they sound great.
