Linux Mint, update manager error

E: /var/cache/apt/archives/mint-mirrors_1.1.9_all.deb: subprocess dpkg-deb --control returned error exit status 2 what does that mean?

Have you checked the repositories used for the installation?

 

Have you run apt-get update or apt-get upgrade?

 

I assume the linux xmint version is lts

I am doing a apt-get upgrade now. a;ready did a apt-get update. Cool am I upgraded to Linux Mint 19 bow?

I think you'll need to run do-release-upgrade for that, unless Mint does not use that command (Ubuntu does), in which case, probably apt-get dist-upgrade.
