BUILD OR BUY

Go to solution Solved by jonrosalia,

yea thats a fairly nice laptop for the price and has wifi 5 for super fast wifi and anti dust fans being military spec

So im actually Playing game on my Mac BookPro (mid 2014) 2.5GHz i7/16go Ram ddr3/GEforceGt 750M. and im looking to upgrade it because the only game i play wont be supported anymore on Mac soon (Guild Wars2). so my question is should i buy a gaming pc and or build my self one. I dont have any experience at building pc so i need help especially for the spec of the pc. I would really like if it was able to run GW2 at 60 fps and not my usual 30. I would better like a Laptop over a Tower because im on the move a lot.

can't build a laptop unfortunately, you have to buy those prebuilt.

I WILL find your ITX build thread, and I WILL recommend the SIlverstone Sugo SG13B

Primary PC:

i7 8086k - EVGA Z370 Classified K - G.Skill Trident Z RGB - WD SN750 - Jedi Order Titan Xp - Hyper 212 Black (with RGB Riing flair) - EVGA G3 650W - dual booting Windows 10 and Linux - Black and green theme, Razer brainwashed me.

Draws 400 watts under max load, for reference.

How many watts do I needATX 3.0 & PCIe 5.0 spec, PSU misconceptions, protections explainedgroup reg is bad

I personally prefer DIY towers

If you want to go down that route watch a LTT or ScatterVolt video, read up on GamersNexus, research it.

If not, I would get an NZXT BLD system, they just charge a flat 100 bucks build fee.

i7 6700k, GTX 1080, Crucial MX 300, Maximus VII Hero, WD Blue, 16 GB RAM

what kind of budget are you trying to stay in because there are some realy nice options all around right now depending on the price range and what part of the globe your on so we can see what the local market is like. also what are your local electronics retailers if you have access to.

im looking at a budget of 1500$. ive got acess to all major retail store since im in Canada. im looking at a ASUS 15.6"  Black (Intel Core i7-8750H(2.2Gz 6-core)/1TB SSHD/12GB RAM/NVIDIA GTX 1050) for 950$ only thing i dont know if it is worth it because its an open box and the spec  seems weak for the price

i would build a tower and keep using your mac on the go unless you do most of your gaming on the go. ryzen is a great option and bundle deals right now make building one very attractive with ram prices and everything where they are finally.
