Is it fine to use denaturated alcohol for cleaning the CPU?

Hey there!

I am thinking of buying a h100i Pro tomorrow (I currently have Noctua NH-U14S), so I would have to clean the thermal paste out of the CPU. Isopropyl alcohol is really hard to get, so could I use denaturated alcohol? (Lasol 100). Its 80-100% ethanol.

I have no idea what the denaturing additives are in Lasol 100. Quite often the chemical/s added to ethanol is/are methanol, isopropyl alcohol or acetone. If one of these is the denaturing agent, it should be fine. Having said that, there are some denatured alcohols that contain dyes and/or lacquers which you will probably want to avoid.
