Hey,

Selling my current GPU to upgrade, so there will be a small point where I won't have a GPU.

I just tested today and I can't seem to get a video out from my 4670k on my Gigabyte Z87X-D3H mobo.

I'm not fussed about both monitors, just having one working is fine.

I plugged both in, one via DVI and the other via HDMI and neither worked. Tried both separately and together, and neither worked.

Am I missing something? Really can't tell what I need to do, but assume it Could be a BIOS option?

Whenever I try to open the Intel HD Graphic Control Centre it flashes on the screen for a moment before closing, so thats no help.

I'm kinda stuck here, so any help is appreciated :)

Hey @WiiManic

Have you tried uninstalling the current GPU drivers and then removing the card from the system, then boot up. It might be looking for the graphics card as the primary video output, as the GPU drivers are still installed.

I hope this helps,

If that doesn't help try going into BIOS and search for option to select your main/primary graphics adapter and select integrated.

Lenovo Y50 (i7-4710HQ, 1TB SSHD, 16GB RAM, 860m 4GB), Nikon D3300 (lenses: 18-55mm kit, Tokina 70-210mm vintage)

P.S. Sorry for my bad english :/

Will try that right after trying the method, Name Taken suggested.

Did you unplug the graphics card? If you leave it plugged in, the integrated graphics are turned off by default.

If im not mistaken, you need to change settings in bios....if the bios is set to "auto", should be a matter of removing your gpu...ensure that all chipset drivers are up to date.  Go to your mobo website or to Intel site and let auto detect take over.

Okay, drivers reinstalled for integrated, GPU removed. I get display on both monitors during boot up, but it only goes as far as the windows logo. When it would normally jump to the login screen and auto login, it drops display.

Any ideas?

Drivers installed or not, he should still be getting Video. Maybe windows is trying to display a resolution that your monitor doesn't support. That would be why the video drops out after the POST screen. I could be wrong though, I am just trying to give you ideas on how to troubleshoot the issue.

Have you tried a 1080P monitor or TV? Try a high resolution monitor or TV, and see if you see video, then you can put down the Resolution to match your other monitor.

If thats even the problem.

I'm thinking its more something up with my desktop settings, I get display via integrated on boot up, both BIOS splash and Windows Logo, its only when I get to the login screen it drops.

Anyway, I took the easy way out and am currently making a Windows 8.1 64bit install USB key, figure in the long run with getting a new GPU and whatnot, this will be the easiest way. Reinstalling should work and I have no data on my C drive that I need, its either on D drive, dropbox, NAS, External HDD.
