Ok so i built an almost new pc ( I reused the gpu and ssd) and i have been having issues with it, specs are 8700k not overclocked 16gb's of Team Group Nighthawk ram, gigabyte Z390 UD MB, Seasonic 750W focus gold psu, XFX Vega 56 and a PNY 480gb ssd, now i would sometimes have a random crash on my old system (X58) using the same ssd and gpu. I upgraded because i thought it was maybe the psu or mb failing and i bought all the parts used aside from the ssd, its the pc i started PC gaming with, since then i have moved to PC only and have enjoyed it alot more than console until this problem arises. Now i would have replaced the ssd and gpu with this build but honestly i couldnt find any clue that it was the gpu or ssd dying but now that this is happening im regretting that decision, Now as far as the problem it is just random crashes but when it does crash it always does the same thing, it almost always does it but its not consistent in how long im playing, it has done it in BO3 zombies, Generation Zero & No man's sky so far which all ive had a chance to play so far. When this happens the screen just goes to a random color (whole screen) and the only sound is a zzzzzzz sound from my headset or speakers, i have to do a reset or hard reset to get the pc back no BSOD.

Are there any tests i can run to confirm this? i have ran heaven benchmark for a loooonnnggg time and it never does crash, along with various other tests trying to pinpoint it. I really hope its not the gpu....

Mhh thats strange back then i wasent a computer guy so i never tryed runnung benchmarks i just gave the gpu back cause i still had warranty and got a new one and the problem was gone and never came back. Dont forget synthetic benchmarks are never the same as real game i can overclock my 1080 to 2,1ghz and be stable at benchmarks but as soon as i start the witcher 3 or gta it dies in seconds do u have a older gpu that u can try to see if ur Problem is gone using another gpu

Would you like me to attach the error logs from my pc?

Also the computer will randomly freeze while doing nothing, i can still move the mouse and see stuff loading but nothing is responsive.

Edit: I think I solved it, I did two things: didn't realize an xmp profile was selected in the bios and memory was running at 3200mhz with no other tweeks and secondly my temps were getting high on the GPU (around 78 on the GPU and 84 on the memory) changed the fan profile for the card and set the memory to the default 2400 and it's been perfectly fine. I failed to realize the 8700k would push the GPU harder so in turn it would run hotter.
