I currently have a Core 2 Quad q8300 on a fairly old PC. I am only just about able to run Adobe Products and am in need of a new PC for gaming and a lot of editing. I am on a tight budget and am wondering which CPU I should buy next. I was looking at the 4770k, the 8350 and the 4670k. Which one is the best for editing and gaming for the price? And how much better will these CPU's be in compared to the current one I have now (Core 2 Quad q8300)? I was primarily looking at the 8350 and the 4670k and was wondering which one would be the best for editing and gaming?

Thanks,

4770K if your budget is big. If not, 4670K, it's more power-efficient and better performance per core, and since most applications are single core, it should work out better.

Even though the 8350 is slightly better than the 3570K in MULTI-Threaded applications it's stupid. Power and Heat output is through the roof.

AMD's solution to beat intel is to throw more cores and clockspeed to beat intel. Which is why they suck sooo much power and each core individually is shit.

There are 10 types of people in this world, those who understand binary, and those who don't.

It goes a little something like this. Intel > AMD for general performance. AMD > Intel for price/performance. You will experience a noticeable difference by upgrading.

8320 @ 4.3ghz l Gigabyte 970a Ud3 l Hyper 212 Evo l R9 290 l 8gb RAM 1866 Vengeance l 1tb WD Black l 120gb Samsung Evo SSD l HX750 Gold PSU l 500d Arctic Case l Windows 8 OS l K65 and Blackwidow Keyboard l M65 and DeathAdder 2013 l Qck Steelseries l 24in Vizio Monitor 1080p

£800

For that price an AMD based system is best, something like the AMD 8350 is Perfect for a rendering, system 8 cores of workhorse goodness  :D

Ps. Don't forget that a lot of the rendering power will be coming from the GPU so don't gimp out on that.

I fix computers and computer accessories... sometimes... when I want to...

I have an 8320 and power and heat is not an issue once so ever... Much better price per performance for a budget system that wants to get stuff done... (Have you ever had an 8320 or an 8350?)

Hope I could help!
