sooo... i have been planning this build for a real long time now and during that time plans have changed a couple of times.

i have the corsair sf 600 and with the system and what it evolved into im starting to worry just a little bit if its gonna hold up.

heres all i have hooked up to it/ plan on hooking up to it:

ASUS Z270i Strix M-ITX (/w side leds)

2x G.Skill Trident Z RGB

i7 7700k

msi 1080 ti aero

samsung 970 EVO

samsung 840 EVO

WD 320 HDD

WD 500 HDD

maybe another 3x 2.5" HDD/SSD (drive cage)

aqua computer d5 pump

9x noctua nf f12 ppc

blue yeti mic

logi g513

mx master

basically a bunch of IO

right now i have no problems BUT the pump isnt hooked up yet and more importantly its all stock clocks on air right now and i worry how power consumption is gonna behave when i put it on water and let the gpu and cpu run wild

"You know it'll clock down as soon as it hits 40°C, right?" - "Yeah ... but it doesnt hit 40°C ... ever  😄"

GPU: MSI GTX1080 Ti Aero @ 2 GHz (watercooled) CPU: Ryzen 5600X (watercooled) RAM: 32GB 3600Mhz Corsair LPX MB: Gigabyte B550i PSU: Corsair SF750 Case: Hyte Revolt 3

Why not buy a KillAWatt power meter to see how much you're pulling? Best way to know if you're going over or not. Cheap and easy

The parts by themselves shouldn't be a problem. I wouldn't recommend overclocking though...

Please mention or quote me if you want a response. :)

good idea i thnk i might even have something like that already somewhere. i used to have this timer adapter for the power plug that i think also showed wattage pulled by whatever was plugged in

i wasnt gonna go for the oc record or anything. but i would like to see how far the 1080 ti clock will go once temps arent a problem anymore. on the cpu if anything i might try some undervolting

Should be fine with the SF600. I have a 6700k & 1080Ti and I have to push the CPU & GPU pretty high to go over 500w or so.

CPU: Intel i7 6700k  | Motherboard: Gigabyte Z170x Gaming 5 | RAM: 2x16GB 3000MHz Corsair Vengeance LPX | GPU: Gigabyte Aorus GTX 1080ti | PSU: Corsair RM750x (2018) | Case: BeQuiet SilentBase 800 | Cooler: Arctic Freezer 34 eSports | SSD: Samsung 970 Evo 500GB + Samsung 840 500GB + Crucial MX500 2TB | Monitor: Acer Predator XB271HU + Samsung BX2450

Should be fine.

HDD / SSD only using 5-10 watts per drive.

Ryzen 5700g @ 4.4ghz all cores | Asrock B550M Steel Legend | 3060 | 2x 16gb Micron E 2666 @ 4200mhz cl16 | 500gb WD SN750 | 12 TB HDD | Deepcool Gammax 400 w/ 2 delta 4000rpm push pull | Antec Neo Eco Zen 500w

yeah i usually dont event think about them but if i load that drive cage up to the brim that 6 drives plus potentially 2x m.2 on the board itself  ...so i thought id mention it

yeah i just listed everything but im mostly concerned about the exponential increase in power consumption when overclocking the 7700k and 1080 ti since i dont know where those max out.

The issue is not when the pc stared and running, but when you push the start button to turn on the pc, at that moment the draw is a lot more.

Are you talking about inrush current as the caps charge? Or are you suggesting that during start up the system itself is pulling more power from the PSU than it would normally do under a heavy load?

yes, this is the way it works.

Although i am not 100% sure.

No.

And if you measure what your computer draws from the wall, you have psu efficiency to think of too. Often 6-10% even with good psu:s. 600W psu giving 600W to parts should draw 600x(1/efficiency)W from wall.
