i just want to remove the packet loss that i suffer from playing games and all i can think of it being is the wireless connection, just am unsure as i have never used an ethernet cable before (other than small lan tasks (playing games with my sister like 8yrs ago))

Well, if you can afford it, I would get the 6A since you really aren't replacing cables much. $5 is not that much extra for 30m length.

I'm pretty sure it will solve your packet loss issue.

Looking at hooking the 2 desktops inside of my house up to the modem via ethernet cables (as i have been having lots of packets drop in games) and it is $5 more to go from cat 6 to cat6a in the length that i was looking at (30m as i am unsure if 10m would be enough)

If you can take the extra, I would go ahead and do so, but it's not really needed unless you wanted to do 10Gb (CAT6 can still do it over that distance though)

I'd more worry about routing your Ethernet cable away from any power lines.
