Get rid of glass reflection on Windows 7

I really hated the W7 Glass reflection crap as it looked really cheap and distracted me all the time. So I spent a while trying to find a solution to get rid of it. It did take a while but hopefully this will shorten peoples finding time for a solution to this problem.

"Open regedit and navigate to:

Computer\HKEY_CURRENT_USER|Software\microsoft\Wind ows\DWM then double click on ColorizationGlassReflectionIntensity and change the value of the Decimal from the default of 50 to something lower like 1.

You will need to log off and then back in again to see the change."

you can do this to restart DWM without logging on and off

cmd > net stop uxsms then net start uxsms

not sure though i never needed this nor i have this with Shine 2.0

I would like to personally have a basic theme in win7 that doesnt look like crap, I really dislike aero for the most part and its not necessary at all for my htpc but the standard aero theme makes my eveys bleed. BTW im so glad they fixed this in 8.

I love aero!! win 8's flat graphics is what makes my eyes bleed and the same goes for ios 7......same stupid flat concept.

8 still technically has aero its just not all transparent and GPU intensive. The nice thing about ti being minimal is that the Aero basic theme doesnt look that much different.
