Oculus rift setup help please

I am planning on buying an Oculus Rift from a friend and was thinking about hooking it up downstairs in the living room, only problem is my PC is upstairs in my room, any advice for getting it set up?

Optical USB 3.0 cable, powered USB hub, long HDMI cable, and a female to female HDMI coupler may work.

 

Or you could save up to build a second PC just for VR.

Vive would be much easier to set up, because the base stations don't need to be connected to the pc, unlike on the oculus.

 

So only 1x usb and 1x hdmi.
