Help! GPU stuck in PCI port

IAmAndre

Hi,

I'm finishing building my PC and after inserting the graphics card I realized that it was bending because there was a cable stuck under it. Now I can't remove the GPU to reinsert it because it's stuck. The little mechanism can't be pressed on anymore so the back of the GPU is removed but the front is stuck. I'm afraid to break something if I push too hard. What can I do?

On the 2nd picture, to the left, there is a latch that holds the GPU in place. Take a screen driver and depress it to release the GPU, once you do that, then you will be able to pull it out.

The latch can't be pressed on. What do you mean exactly by "depress it with a screwdriver"?

it can be. push the GPU back into the socket fully, then take a screw driver and press down on it, and it will depress backwards and release the hold on the GPU.

I tried but I can't put it back in place anymore. However I can remove it at like 90% but only the edge is stuck in the mechanism :(

At this point I cant really help you any further since I already gave you the information on how to do what you need to do. Now its on you to determine how much force and pressure you want to apply to do it and fix it. It shouldnt take much if any truthfully, but I cant tell without having hands on.
