I'm thinking about picking this up.

http://www.ebay.ca/itm/New-Genuine-Crossover-27-27QW-IPS-LED-QHD-DVI-D-AH-IPS-2560x1440-Monitor-/321293825783?pt=Computer_Monitors&hash=item4ace9ab6f7&_uhb=1

Should I, or not?

I really want a 1440P monitor, but i don't really want to fork out 600+ on it...

Thoughts?

I'd definitely consider it. I have the Crossover 27Q and its amazing, not one dead pixel and for a fraction of the price of more well known brands

If your graphics can handle it, then why not.

I'd just be using this monitor. No doubt an single R9 280X could handle that.

I don't really care about the design. I just want it to work and experience the 1440P world for the first time.

I have the pivoting metal version of that monitor, no dead pixels I can find and very little backlight bleed, well worth the money IMO. I'll be buying another soon, 1080 isn't productive enough anymore :P

I really want a 1440 23"-24" monitor....

I would go for it cautiously, there are others on this forum who are saying the monitor is good, but I would recognize that the RMA won't be there, and you will be stuck with what you get, whether you like that or not.

Mainstream companies have lowered pricing on 1440p monitors, so for about $100 to $200 more you can have a monitor that comes with a full 3 year parts and labor warranty.

I would never buy an off-brand monitor for anything more than $100 to $150.

Farther down the page, it says it has a DOA return policy, sounds nice to me.

I don't have any personal experience with that Korean IPS monitor. But two years ago I bought a Yamakasi Catleap 27" 2703 2560x1440 monitor off eBay and while it took ~2 weeks to ship, it came in perfect condition and absolutely no dead pixels to this date. In my honest opinion if you're on a budget but you really want the higher resolution go for it.

Also eBay is really good with helping you not get screwed and so is PayPal. Just go with a trusted seller. Check out a few of their most recent feedback. My seller "dream-seller" on eBay was very helpful. I messaged him a few times on the status of my shipment and he put up with my nagging and never once became defensive.

So yeah, if you really want one, I'd say go for it.

It's Korean, I would avoid and get a 1440p monitor from a reputable company like Asus or Dell. You actually get warranty with your monitor and it wont break after a year.

Honestly I haven't heard of many dying, and the ones that did were usually from people OCing them to 120Hz. I took a gamble on mine I bought over a year ago and now I don't see the point in spending extra money when I go to buy another as I haven't had any reason to not trust Crossover.

I have heard loads of problems with them, my friends Korean monitor died after 6 months, no warranty and no he didn't OC it.

Dead on Arrival return policy... that means if it breaks a week later, no warranty lol

It says he can return for DOA, and then has a year warranty. Not the same as the big retailers, but not bad.

apparently that warranty is BS, you have to pay the shipping and duty fees again which will be around 200 bucks or so if you're in the US
