Hello,

My Fiancee works as a bio-informatician and she has described a laptop for me but I am having trouble finding something. The requirements are in order of importance:

Decent CPU (Quad core)

16 GB RAM

SSD (512 GB or more)

14 inch or larger inch screen

external dual monitor support is a must either by docking station or cables directly

less than 1.2 kg weight

Or

less than 1.5 kg weight

with a GPU in ready for light gaming. e.g. medium graphics on CS:GO, WoW, Eve online, Minecraft, Newer FPS titles etc.

I had been looking at the following, which seemed reasonable enough to run games, but I am unsure on it's ability to run dual-monitors as other people on the internet have complained they could not get the USB-C to support another monitor:

https://www.asus.com/sg/Laptops/ASUS-Zenbook-15-UX533FD/Tech-Specs/

She occasionally uses photoshop, but never does video editing.

The budget is preferably around $2000 USD ($2750 SGD), however this can potentially go much higher (maybe up to $4000 USD) if the laptop can be somehow kept light and with a good CPU, usage in conjunction with an external GPU would also work for us.

There are also thoughts about buying the cheapest laptop that meet the specs and saving the rest of the money to go towards a desktop in 2-3 years time.

In terms of usage it will be moved around a fair amount for at least the next couple of months but maybe not so much after that, but the laptop needs those specs as it is required for her work. But it should almost always be plugged in so a battery life of 2-3 hours would be enough, anything extra is a bonus.

In addition we would like to keep the laptop if it is a more expensive one for the next 6-8 years, 2-3 if going towards a desktop instead. I don't know if in 6-8 years 16 GB of RAM will be enough, but it probably won't be.

We don't mind the quality of the display as long as it is HD, as we will most likely be plugging in external monitors anyway.

What would your suggestions be on something that would work for us?

This is quite a lot. I bet the laptop will die first before the performance gets outdated

Any links of online stores?

I honestly can't find it at all now, after spending 30 minutes searching. I was looking in incognito mode earlier...

I mean, could you provide some links of online stores in your country that sell laptops?
