I've had my PSU for a long time now, I want to say close to 10 years?? It's still running but It's getting loud and I think It's time to replace. I'm currently using the Corsair HX850.

Specs: 6600k cooled by a X62

16gb Ram

980ti Hybrid

Got 2 SSDs and one HDD

Looking at getting a PSU that will be very quite under load. I've heard that psus can turn off the fan while at idle or low usage which would be a nice option.

I've had my corsair for many years and it's done very well for me but I'm open to over manufactures.

What's your budget? The Corsair RMx 850W seems like a good option for you.

I run a corsair rm650i which is great option!

For reference, the build in my sig only draws about 350-400 watts, so a 650 is more than enough for your needs.

A 980Ti and 6600k doesn’t need 1000 watts, that’s a waste of money and less efficient.

Get the cheapest 550-650 watt Corsair RMx or EVGA G2 you can find. Focus Plus is good too.

The Corsair RMx would be a good choice. 550w would be plenty.

Why are you recommending an 850W and 1000W unit when their system requires less than 400W?

The 550w is £77 with Prime, The 750 is £95 with prime. The 650 costs more than the 750(go figure). Looking at the above comments the 550w will be fine with current spec. If I upgrade in the future would the 550w still cut it or would it be wise for the extra £18 get the 750?

orrrr the 750 in white is £115 and looks really nice with the white cables.

If you are doing a white theme build and want a white PSU or are planning on purchasing custom white cables anyway, the RM750x White is actually pretty good value when you consider that a set of white cables could be an extra 40+ pounds.

550w will cover most single card systems, with the exception of Threadripper builds or maybe 9900k + 2080Ti.
The RM750x (2018) comes with extra PCIe and EPS12V cables though.

Yeah I'm going to order the white 750.

Thanks again for the advice.
