Questions about AMD's storemi

I'm thinking of using storemi to boost my 2.5 inch hdd. But I have some questions like : 

Does all ssd work or only spacific brands? 

How big (storage space) must the ssd be? 

Must it be sata or nvme? 

Does it work with first generation Ryzen? 

 

My hdd is the HGST "2.5" Inch hdd 5400rpm 2tb.

4. Yes, called Fuzedrive. In fact storeMI is a rebadged Fuzedrive.

 

5. Also a ton of bugs related to using it, better be careful with it and not store anything valuable in there.

SuperPi (v1.5 from Techpowerup, PI value output) 16K: 0.100s 1M: 8.255s 32M: 7m 45.93s

It's going to be a scratch drive for my school paper articles

Digital articles with some videos, the school paper is on the school server which you log in to see. We do print hard copies but 90% of the students read them via school site.

because if the file's small you might as well just store them on an SSD right away with HDD as long term backup. SSD caching only benefit revisited files.
