Hey guys,

I have a brand new Samsung 840 Pro SSD (128GB) and would like to ask you all some questions about setting it up. Any advice will be much appreciated as I have never owned an SSD.

Do I need to install any software to get it up and running or will the installation of Windows take care of everything?

Do I need to install the Samsung Magician Software that came on a disk included with the SSD?

I also have a 128GB Toshiba SSD and a much larger mechanical drive. Any suggestions on how I should set things up?

Thanks in advance!

Yes, I would recommend getting the Magician Software. Also as for the other SSD you can either use it as a regular drive or as cache for the HDD.

No and no.

Isn't there an option to get reads and writes up to 1Gbits per second?

Well that's RAPID and it comes with its own pros and cons. It's not necessary and I personally wouldn't use it.

The software does offer some other features as well. I guess it is what you prefer.
