I know there is no much differences between 1060 3gb  and 1660.

1660 with overclock could get close to 1660ti / 1070, which is roughly 30~50% faster than 1060 3gb.

or do you mean 1060 3gb vs  1060 6gb...?

As far as I know there is no much differences between 1060 3gb  and 1660.1660 is higher in beam which will give 4k resulation gaming. But my monitor doesn't support 4k.so should I buy 1660 for some extra FPS and detailing?I am with a budget build.

Thanks in advance

the 3 gig card and 1660 is a HUGE difference. Get an RX 590 or 1660.

i5-8600k, MSI Z370-A Pro, 2x 8GB DDR4-3k, MSI Gaming X 1060, NZXT S340, 2TB HDD, 750w Corsair PSU, AOC 2775 OC'd to 80Hz and CFG73 at 144hz

I'd look either at RX570 or 580, both in 8GiB VRAM.

And also check the prices of VEGA56 Cards.

They came down quite a bit. Right now you can get a V56 for under 250€ on sale, sometimes.

the 3GB 1060 is never a good idea.

I thought 1060 3gb was once a good deal, when it was sub$200 just before the mining crises ...2 yrs ago?

It was for a day or two, as the mining craze was kicking in but hadn't trickled down to 1060s yet, getting you GTX 970-ish performance at a good price. The card is a walking compromise and is just not a good purchase new. It never was.

Aerocool DS are the best fans you've never tried.

I would have to recommend either the 1660, 590, or 580. If you’re open to overclocking, the 1660 can get to almost 1070 levels of performance. The 590 is the best for compute and OpenCL tasks. The 580 is worse than the 590 and 1660 but it is significantly cheaper.

If you're going with 1080p gaming and are doing a cheap build i think the rx 580 is the way to go

The 1660 6 gb is much better than the 1060 3 gb.
