Second ram stick not detected

Try reseating the ram.
Try swapping the ram around (swap slots).
Try only one ram stick, first in one slot, then the other. Do the same with the other stick. This rules out any issues with the stick versus the slot. If no RAM is detected (system doesnt boot) when only 1 stick is in a certain slot, the slot is faulty. If the problem only occurs with a certain stick on both slots, the stick is faulty.
Lastly, if both sticks happen to get detected, check both sticks with Memtest86 or similar utility.
