I just think it’d be cool to have but I’m seeing some figures that most games don’t accept sli and if they do it’s a 10-15% increase (if that), did I make the right choice by keeping to one?

Eh. Just get one. I was about to get two, but they're so stupidly large that you'd need a stupidly large case to go along with your decent used card priced 2nd GPU.

sli and crossfire support is basically nonexistent these days.

the current list of dead cards is as follows 2 evga gtx 980ti acx 2.0 , 1 evga gtx 980 acx 2.0 1600mhz core 2100mhz ram golden chip card ... failed hardcore , 1 290x that caught fire , 1 hd 7950 .

sli is more for show then it is for practicality... SLI is useless in most games
