Will there be plx switch on x570?

Now that X570 supports PCIE*4.0, I just wonder whether the new motherboards will have pcie switch or not.

With 2080Ti only PCIE 3.0*16 lanes are used.

If Ryzen 3000s supports PCIE 4.0*16, I would like use my quad PCIE3.0*4 ssd expansion card to get the full speed at the same time instead of building a HEDT.

But someone who works in asrock said it's not possible. He said chips like ASM2824 are quite expensive and they won't be on X570s.

Maybe ASUS will provide such motherboards?

What do you think guys ?

asus workstation boards or supermicro making a board for it

those are probably your best bets

No x470 motherboards with plx yet...

I fail to find any supermicro x370 or x470 motherboards.

I hope X570 workstation motherboards will have some

AMD AM4 boards won't see PLX imo.

neither for asus.

It seems there are no workstation motherboards for x370 and x470 yet.

It is different from Intel motherboards.

Maybe I have to reconsider the hedt.

don't... even a 9900k is a better deal

but I'd wait and see, with the current hype they might be planning on a ws board

If I got a 9820x and its price lower than 9900k, will it be a good deal?

But I heard that 9820x has worse cores to oc.

I saw an example that 9820x  one core can't reach 4,5 and stays at 4,1 while others are all oc to 4,5

i haven't really take a deep breath into x299 in CPUs itself, just the mobos

keep in mind x299 on mobos add a big cost to the total...

I just feel it is the same price as the z390 workstation motherboards compared to x299 taichi.

does the taichi have a plx then? or is it because x299 offers more lanes?

because then we see threadripper looking around the corner

I believe most x299 and x399 mobos have  plx switches because they supports their quad m.2 cards like asus hype m.2 card, asrock quad m.2 card and msi.

Asus and Asrock have a close relationship with ASMedia so ASM2824 might be a good option.

maybe because asmedia is part of asus and asrock used to be?
