oh... i looked into it

because i selected the quite big hx750 it doesn't even fit

but that aside, i think you're getting a great deal with the cooler master h500 i linked above, it has freakin 200mm fans in the front

I'd recommend it with the in the box mesh panel for the best airflow

I agree, it's a really cool case with nice features for the price.

If you want all black, I really like the Meshify cases like:

https://pcpartpicker.com/product/Y6Crxr/fractal-design-meshify-c-atx-mid-tower-case-fd-ca-mesh-c-bko-tg

It is feature light in comparison

h500 (nzxt) isn't that much better in airflow... but it is at least better

for the meshify you need to change the psu i listed... it doesn't fit

That surprises me, since there is that case spanning grate down the back side of the nzxt. But open mesh front with massive fans is tough to beat :P

cm h500 with mesh panel on?

to be serious tho, meshify is a great case

Can you put RGB in the front like the picture shoes so its at least not a blob of mesh?

you can swap the front panels for different colors

but iirc you can't really make rgb at the front with the meshify

It's worth it for the extra airflow, i'll just face the side towards me so I see the inside and not a mesh screen.

oh, you meant the h500?

that one has the fans visible with both panels, the one on the picture is the more blocking plastic one tho

Also just so I'm sure the 1080ti is a better buy than the 2080?

mmm.. I'd say there is an argument to be made for the 2080. They are about the same performance wise, and the RTX has the Ray Tracing feature for future titles. New parts will come with warranty and support, and at your budget we really aren't talking about a huge price gap. So really it falls to preference.

The Radeon VII is another competitor in the GPU pool. It doesn't fall far behind either model if at all.

Here's the lowest cost listing on pcpartpicker. That said the zotac gaming cooler is midrange at best, so it could make a bit of noise under heavy load. With the amount of airflow in the case... It might still be super minimal.

Here's a pretty good listing on the 1080ti, which I must admit is pretty appealing at the price. That said, there are always the risks of buying used. This seller does claim to take returns up to 30 days.

keep in mind the radeon vii with double the vram with higher speed hbm2 exists too

Just out of curiosity in today's gaming, how does the 16GB experience differ from the 8GB? Do we have any games that exceed the needs of 8GB VRAM, where the VII excels at this point?

I was looking more into the 1080ti and upgrading when the new Nvidia card comes out next year. I would pick up a 2080 but I think id actually rather just go for it an get the 2080ti which I think would be a waste because of some of the markups on them right now. I'm not much of a fan of AMD. If you were planning to upgrade the GPU in the next year or so would you still recommend the 2080 over the 1080ti? Or would you put the extra money in your back pocket and wait until the new GPU whenever it comes out?

It's hard to say. I'll say the AMD biased is... Pretty unfounded. Especially in the GPU department, since they tend to outlive the nVidia guys as time passes.

But it's hard to say what the market will be doing a year from now or what the next line of GPUs will offer.

I've had issues with AMD products over heating in the past in prebuilt computers and laptops. I havent had one in some time though.

Well either way the option is on you. Really I think 2080Ti isn't enough performance difference to justify the massive price tag over the 2080.

If I was doing $2600 USD for a full gaming build, it might look something like this:

I opted for full RGB throughout because fun!

- i7 8700k is as good for gaming as any i7 variant. For the price, I'd pick it over the 9700k and the 9900k doesnt offer a ton more for the massive price tag.

- Heavy cooling AIO with RGB that matches the case. Very sexy combo and great cooler for your overclocks.

-The Prime z390-A isn't top of the line, but it has sufficient VRM for the 8700k, and hey, RGB!

- Good RGB RAM

-RTX 2080 with a high / midrange cooler, and a HUGE clock.

-Great case as previously discussed.

-Solid PSU at a great price.

-2 monitor setup:

     -27" 1440p 144hz 1ms monitor with G. Sync, great buy with the RTX 2080.

-27" 1080p 60hz screen for stuff on the side while you game.

-The peripherals are up to choice. Just wanted to show some nice pieces which have great stats and great Logitech support.

That said, I might not spend this on the peripherals myself.

Mostly it's due to the stock-factory set voltages are usually ridiculously high. One can drop a few mV-s here&there and gain some coolness without sacrificing clock speeds. (true for CPU-s, GPU-s). Setting a negative vcore offset is also often reduces heat by a few degrees. Nothing wrong with AMD, imho.

Life is really challenging. I don't always suceed: )
