Good CPU/Motherboard pair for 1080ti

I'm thinking about getting a Ryzen 7 2700x to pair with my 1080ti, is this a good choice of CPU and if it is what Motherboard would you guys recommend (as cheap as possible)?

Regards, Leon.

Are you building a new system or upgrading an existing one?

The X470 Gaming K4 is pretty solid motherboard and very reasonably cheap for a motherboard like that.
There's also good B450's that could handle the 2700X, like the Steel or the MSI Tomahawk.  How much are you looking to spend?

The 4790 is a good CPU, there shouldn't be a massive bottleneck depending on your resolution.

1080p, but before you go any further keep in mind I play fortnite at a high level so the end games are very cpu intensive therefore I want to upgrade CPU.

Fortnite is not very hard to run, my i5 4460 and GTX 960 could do 1440p medium at 60 FPS. Your 4790 will be just fine.

Now imagine your experience but with a small circle moving with 30-40 people battling it out to stay alive, I'm also on 144hz so 60fps is not ideal...

I would recommend using the Nvidia FPS overlay. Press Alt and Z (IIRC) in game to enable it. The 2700x is a pretty solid CPU, especially if you are planning to stream.
