ASUS Z170-A not detecting boot SSD

Go to solution Solved by Opencircuit74,

I updated the board to the newest BIOS, and it picked it right up. I don’t know what was wrong with my old one, but it works fine now.

Hello everyone,

I recently got my hands on a Z170-A from ASUS and a 6700k, so I decided to upgrade my current PC with the new stuff (I am aware about reinstalling windows). I put my Intel 530s series SSD in the slot, and lo an behold... nothing. Even restarting the motherboard, removing all of the other SATA connections, and reinstalling the SSD did not help. That's why I'm here, to see if any of you know how to fix the motherboard not detecting the SSD. Thanks for reading.
