Lag spike while gaming

Hi everyone,

I'm new to the PC community. I've always been a console gamer, I recently made the switch over to PC. I'm currently having issues whenever I game, I'll get intermittent lag spikes. It freezes the game for about 5-10 secs. It appears to me an internet issue. The thing is I've had different routers, ISP's, and check my wifi drivers. I can't seem to find the solution to this issue. I recently bought an NVMe drive thinking maybe it was my Optane memory but I'm still having the same issue. I have completely wiped the computer thinking maybe I had a bad update. My PC is Alienware Aurora R7 i7 8700, GTX 1070, 16GB RAM, 500gb WD Black SN750. Any help would be appreciated. WIFI, there is your issues. If you can reposition your wifi anteaters to better location or consider running a Ethernet from router/switch.

Thank you for the response. I'm currently hardwired in to my google wifi router.

Does this happens with every game? If it so, it might be game issues/ISP issues which we  can't really do much about.

Yes, it does it with every game. Apex, Fornite, H1Z1. I've had a different service provider and still get the same issue. I had Cox communication before and now I have AT&T 300mb up and down. Stream works perfect on my Apple TV and on my computer. I had an ASUS gaming laptop that didn't give me the issue. I think it's something with this computer and can't seem to put my finger on what is causing it...
