Nextcloud is a service hosted on your server that allows you to remote connect to the server’s shared directory - extremely similar to using traditional cloud storage. 

 

iOS has a native app that will allow you to access your files remotely. 

 

You can still run SFTP separately if desired. They are not mutually exclusive.
