hello people!

well, bloatware on prebuilt pcs/laptops is bad so i wonder: is it possible to download an official windows ISO and install/activate it using the license key that came with the bloatwared OS? did anyone do it here? and how does it work? is the product key valid for any installation of that specific version of OS on that specific motherboard?

You can remove the bloatware using PC Decrapifier.

think of an elephant shitting on your face, i think that PC Decrapifier is like trying to clean that with only toilet paper: it will look like it's gone, but it still sucks

if it won't let you activate the copy of windows on install, call microsoft support and tell them your HDD crapped out and you had to replace it, and they should allow you to activate it (they did for me several times)

With today's technology I often wonder why we don't have colonies on the moon or Mars. Then I go to Wal Mart for 5 minutes and realize the vast majority of the human populace isn't ready for such things.

were you trying to install it on a different drive?

What drive it is does't matter. What matters is your Motherboard if it's an OEM copy.

exactly as the os will look for the bios and files to be in certain places based on the oem board (from what I remember) and it doesn't matter if the drive is new or not, they still let me reinstall (I installed a few times after getting malware and just told them I had a new drive and they always allowed me to activate as the previous version was being overwritten)

Exactly. The even cooler thing i think in Windows 8 is that the product key is intact encrypted in the BIOS. So you don't even have to crawl under the desk with a flash-light in your mouth and a pen and paper trying to write them damn thing down!

Even if you do have to call them (which you won't). It's the easiest process in the world to do.
