Hi, when it comes to bottleneck what setup is better, more powerful CPU than GPU (I was thinking about RX 590 and R5 2600X) or more powerful GPU than CPU? I think the 1st solution is better because I can upgrade GPU whenever I want and do not have to worry about switching MOBO or RAM. I might be wrong so please correct me I am.

That's the better position to take. A GPU is much less labor to replace, though can be a lot more expensive than a CPU.

If you are doing high refresh rate gaming, the CPU is significantly more important than the GPU. If you want to do 4K gaming, it's the opposite.

New Build (The Compromise): CPU - i7 9700K @ 5.1Ghz Mobo - ASRock Z390 Taichi | RAM - 16GB G.SKILL TridentZ RGB 3200CL14 @ 3466 14-14-14-30 1T | GPU - ASUS Strix GTX 1080 TI | Cooler - Corsair h100i Pro | SSDs - 500 GB 960 EVO + 500 GB 850 EVO + 1TB MX300 | Case - Coolermaster H500 | PSUEVGA 850 P2 | Monitor - LG 32GK850G-B 144hz 1440p | OSWindows 10 Pro.

Peripherals - Corsair K70 Lux RGB | Corsair Scimitar RGB | Audio-technica ATH M50X + Antlion Modmic 5 |

CPU/GPU history: Athlon 6000+/HD4850 > i7 2600k/GTX 580, R9 390, R9 Fury > i7 7700K/R9 Fury, 1080TI > Ryzen 1700/1080TI > i7 9700K/1080TI.

Other tech: Surface Pro 4 (i5/128GB), Lenovo Ideapad Y510P w/ Kali, OnePlus 6T (8G/128G), PS4 Slim.

So I should not probably trust this source that's saying this GPU is not strong enough?

To clarify, the GPU not fully utilizing the CPU is the kind of bottleneck that you WANT.

The bottleneck you're looking out for is where your CPU is preventing your GPU from performing fully.

This is actually a very balanced review, since it is almost perfectly matched.

That said, the 590 isn't a huge step up from the 580, and the 2600X is almost never worth the cost difference against the 2600.

For similar pricing, you could go something like a 2600 with a 1660Ti and grab a touch more performance out of the deal.

Edit: The 2600X is only $15 more currently. So I would say that's worth the upgrade.

If you have to choose, having a more powerful CPU would be better because as mentioned earlier, it's easier to upgrade the GPU than the CPU.

However at the end of the day, as long as you're still getting the performance you want, it doesn't really matter.

Bottleneck calculators are not at all to be trusted, avoid them as well as PSU calculators.

I WILL find your ITX build thread, and I WILL recommend the SIlverstone Sugo SG13B

Primary PC:

i7 8086k - EVGA Z370 Classified K - G.Skill Trident Z RGB - WD SN750 - Jedi Order Titan Xp - Hyper 212 Black (with RGB Riing flair) - EVGA G3 650W - dual booting Windows 11 and Fedora Linux - Black and green theme, Razer brainwashed me.

Draws 400 watts under max load, for reference.
