So my friend needs a new graphics card to run Worms Revolution.

His budget is £90 at MAX but would like it to be as cheap as possible.

Is this any good?? http://www.scan.co.uk/products/2gb-gigabyte-gt-640-hd-series-28nm-1800mhz-gddr3-gpu-1050mhz-shader-clock-1050mhz-384-cores-2x-dl-dv

could you find me a cheaper one that could run it?

thanks!

Is there anything cheaper??? or is that it.

There's really nothing much below that is worth it.

Can your friend not find 5$? The 7770 is significantly better than a 640..

Are you dumb. He showed us a nvidea based card so he should get a nvidea based card not AMD.

If you're calling me dumb, I'm calling you ironic. I won't elaborate on how close minded and idiotic that statement is.

@OP it's your friends money, but if he's going to cheap out over 5$ for considerably less performance, then so be it. The 650 is one of the worst price/performance cards.

The 7770 is just a better card, lol.

Mixing intel with AMD is not the best idea. I thought he uses intel do to the fact that OP suggested a nvidea card.

It doesn't matter, you can mix all you want. The CPU is irrelevant unless it's like a Celeron D or something

it's already too late to save him, but hopefully his friend won't really care.

That's funny. I know people that actually still believe that Intel and nVidia are proprietary to eachother. That nVidia cards won't work right on AMD CPUs and etc.

I still think that Nvidea should not be mixed with AMD. You are taking the risk that people one of the companies restricts the use of the other companies and then make it so it does not work. Could possibly happen.

Well I haven't got any problems by recommending my other schoolmate a GTX 760 with an FX6300. A CPU is still a CPU and so is the GPU.

Btw he has got that system for a month or two and till now he hasn't complained about anything.

But I do understand your fear tho, it could happen but if it does then the computer industry is actually becoming unstable in my opinion.

Watch out, there might be ninjas out there

It won't happen. It would've had to be advertised the incompatibility list on the box or website. If for some reason in the future they decide to, it would only be a new spec that applies to new GPUs. And they wouldn't because it doesn't make sense financially at the moment. Only one of my friends with an 8350 has an AMD GPU. Some of my other friends(who don't use laptops) have: 8350/780, 8350/660Tix2, 6300/660SC...etc. I personally run a 780SC with my 8350.
