Help me pick between these gpus

Hi I know I am using these forums too much and most of you are probably fed up of me these two gpus  are on my budget help me pick one.

the 1660 beats the 580 in gaming and has faster ram

The 1660 uses the same GDDR5 that the 580 uses, the 1660 ti uses GDDR6.

 

That said, in most games, the 1660 pushes more FPS, sometimes by 10 more frames per second. In games where the 580 8GB wins, it's only by 1-4 FPS.

Id grab this 580 over the one you posted. This one is much nicer. And cheaper.

 

The 1660 is faster at the cost of slightly smaller ram ammount and it costing a little more.

 

Either is fine

 

580 if you want to save a buck

1660 if you want the faster card

last time i checked they are rather similar. the 580 might be a slight touch better in that department.

Based on OP's original two cards, they were equal price, so the value proposition was in NVidia's favor.

 

The value proposition of that XFX is better. That card rocks, I've used them in two client builds. They look like a hot mess, but they work very well.

 

It's too bad that places like UserBenchmark don't have the ability to compare two cards directly, only compare card families (which assumes stock reference PCB's and reference VRAM and clock speed). I'd love to see how the XFX stacks up against that PNY.

 

I'd imagine, no matter which way you go, you'll get roughly the same relative (noticeable) performance. I'd also assume that the NVidia card would still do slightly better in many games, and the AMD would do slightly better in others.

Ok I might end up getting the amd card becuse it's not bang on 200 and I will have some remaining money of I get it
