FREE Games of the Day #3 April 26th, 2019

Paul Rudd

Game #1 Deponia is FREE right now over at IndieGalaSteam link... Deponia.

It released to Steam ALMOST 7 YEARS AGO, August 6th, 2012 and has 6,081 Very Positive reviews.

Developed by Daedalic, the game is a fantastic point & click comedy adventure game that revolves around a crazy love story of Rufus and Goal. The world has degenerated into a vast garbage dump, in which the crotchety Rufus ekes out his sorry existence. He is part of the lowest social class, doomed to live his life in literal mountains of trash. He hopes for an opportunity to get into the world of the rich, who live in a floating city high above the clouds. Fate seems to smile on the snotty good-for-nothing when one day the attractive lady named Goal from the higher sector plummets into one of the trash heaps. Rufus decides to help the young woman out by taking her back to her husband. When he notices that Goal's husband is a dead ringer for himself, he hatches a diabolical scheme to gain access to the upper world. However, things don't work out quite as planned, since he has feelings for the beauty which limits his usual unscrupulousness. Help Rufus, the poor boy from the junkyard, to win over the girl from heaven. Only with this rich girl from his dreams he might be able to escape Deponia and, unexpectedly, to save the planet.

It has a unique comic style with hand-drawn HD resolution 2D graphics. It has bizarre characters and wacky humor. It has challenging puzzles and hours of dialogue. It has a unique universe in the tradition of Douglas Adams (The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy), Terry Pratchett (Discworld) and Matt Groening (The Simpsons, Futurama). It's also from the creators of the award-winning games Edna & Harvey and The Whispered World.

Game #2 Burning Daylight is a FREE game released to Steam LAST FRIDAY, April 19th, 2019 and has 663 Very Positive reviews.

Developed by a team of 12 students from the The Animation Workshop, it's an atmospheric sci-fi adventure game set in a dystopian future with light puzzle elements and environmental storytelling. Waking up naked in a grotesque slaughterhouse, you have no recollection of who you are or where you come from. Your only clue is a mysterious tattoo on your chest. You must now escape and travel through a dystopian society in order to uncover the mysteries of your origin.

The story is set in the future where life cannot sustain outside, what remains of human society, now lives in megastructures waiting for the day, when they once again can live outside. You will explore the world inside of the megastructure, from the low-level slums to the bustling city streets, while exploring its society; you will learn that not everything is how it seems.

Bonus Game #3 Abalyte is a FREE Early Access game released to Steam 7 MONTHS AGO, September 16th, 2018 and has 142 Mostly Positive reviews.

Developed by Purple Studios, it's a 2D-roguelike metroidvania pixel graphic platformer that focuses on the player's skill and inventiveness. While other games have crutches or progression systems that help the player beat the game, this game does the opposite and throws you in a spike-pit. The developer plans to add more features to the game like online co-op and PvP. Players can participate in the development process and pitch in their ideas in which the developer has stated, "the craziness and chaos of the game will know no bounds." The full version will include more than 300 weapons to choose from, over 150 spells and over 100 grand artifacts, each with it's own unique purpose. The worlds will be randomly generated as well as item randomization to ensure full replay-ability. It will be balanced based on the 4-player experience, but players can challenge themselves and attempt a death-wish single player run if they desire. The current state of the game has three levels and one boss level. The levels' orders are randomized. It also has a selection of just 6 weapons to choose from, allowing the player to wield two of his or her weapons of choice.

Be sure to grab this game now because it will have a price tag after the official launch which is expected to be in 5-12 months from now according to the 1-2 years it's suppose to be in early access.

It's not FREE unless you PAY for the Humble Monthly service.

Currently overpriced as usual. It hits around $2.39 during most major sales and if I really wanted it, I'd just buy it from a Humble Monthly subscriber that needs to make up their Humble Monthly subscription. They always throw it on eBay for $0.50 - $$1.00 within a week or so from getting it unless it's one of those DRM-FREE ones that don't give them a Steam key.

EDIT: You're right, it is FREE until 05/03. It's not a Steam key but a DRM-FREE download none the less. And you do have to be a HM subscriber to get all these other games. Thanks for the info and I'll be sure to add this news to my FREE daily games series.
