What is the pc being used for ? Also why RTX 2080 SLI ? What monitor are you going to be using ?

Geezus Christ, What is this monster for? everything looks fine. you might want the 9900k if you are running dual cards. And maybe see if the z390 has onboard gigabit.

Get rid of the Intel Optane memory.

Drop the 128 GB Adata SU800 and buy something bigger, like 256 / 480 / 512 GB , ideally in m.2 nvme mode , not m.2 SATA

 

The price difference would be nothing compared to the price of the rest of the build, like 20-30$ more for the SSD when you have 2 RTX 2080 cards in there.

 

The power supply PROBABLY comes with the power cable in the box, not sure you need extra cable. 

 

The 32GB of optane (as cache for the mecanical drives) will be pointless, it won't cache much in those 32 GB of memory - with the money you spend on optane you can basically add 250-500 GB to your main SSD and just install the most often used games and apps in that space.

If you go with the 970 evo.......no need for 32GB Intel Optane (stupid idea anyway - completely pointless....)

 

PSU probably slightly OP but meh go for it if you can afford it....

Depends what he is doing with the pc. If just gaming then there is no need to go X299 as Z390 is superior for that.

Can you tell me how Z390 is superior to x299 for gaming?

 

Z390 limits PCIe lanes

 

That's really about the only difference I can think of so why would he limit himself????

What does pcie lanes have to do with anything ? The 9900K is currently the fastest cpu but even the 8700K or 9700K would be fine. Also X299 is a lot more expensive for a decent board. There is zero reason to go X299 if just gaming.

Thank you everyone for the tips and suggestions. it will be used for Rendering amd running 5 4k moniters and gaming. Also i take it that all this will work when i order it.
