Lost Password

Okay so I got a laptop from a friend but the thing is so old we don't know the password, and I don't have a large enough flash drive to use a recovery (cause apparently 64 gigs isn't enough to gold a 4gb recovery program), Does anyone know how to either reset a password or admin log in to a Lenovo W540 laptop with Windows 8 pro?

Is it a local account? If so its really easy to reset the password with one of many password reset disks you can make
