Windows installation m.2 not detected

• I bought a new m.2 ssd (WD BLUE 3D NAND SATA SSD M.2 2280, 500GB).
• I installed it into my pc, unplugged the existing SSD and HDD, and went to the UEFI.
• I plugged in my usb flash drive, which I used the first time.

But now the usb flash drive is working, but my m.2 SSD isn't detected.

 

 

Specs:

• Asrock fatal1ty b450 gaming k4 (motherboard)
• AMD Ryzen 5 1600X (CPU)
• EVGA GTX 1050 ti (GPU)
• Sandisk usb 3.0 16GB
• WD Blue 500GB - [WDS500G2B0B] M.2 SSD

Which m.2 slot did you use, as the top one is ONLY for pci-e ones.

I used the 'ultra m.2 slot', so the top one

Should I use the other one?

Yes, as I mentioned before, the top slot is ONLY for NVME drives, you use the bottom one for SATA drives, you can also use the bottom one for NVME drives, but only at x2 lanes, so slower.

No wiorries, it actually says on the product page from the manufacturer, under overview.

Ahh I see.. for future reference, NVMe drives typically are M key (notch on the right hand side), whilst SATA SSDs now are typically B+M key (2 notches).
