Just started to happen last week with my roughly 3-year-old Toshiba 3Tb --moving or deleting any file takes half a minute to initiate.

No other issues though, no excessive noise, and files can still be read as quickly as before (no buffering or skipping with 4K files, for example). It just pauses for half a minute before any file can be moved. Once the file starts moving, transfer speeds are quick.

I have defragged it and checked it for errors (none reported).

Never experienced this before with a failing drive...
