Cpu cooler

Hello,i've been looking into a new build and i really don't know what cooler i have to buy. I don't really want water cooling because i don't know if i'il be able to mount it properly since it's a little harder and this is the first pc i'il build myself. 

I've chosen a i7 9700k and a dark rock pro 4 and i think it should be able to handle it but i'm not 100% sure.

Yeah, it's fine.   That's why it was recommended in your OTHER thread about this build.

The other thread is about the build as a whole i just wanted to make sure it could cool it.

Again, that's why it was recommended.  The builds are put together with each part thought about, they're solid.

 

Also, the build thread is where to discuss the whole build and each part.  That way people can follow the thought processes and see what's been discussed already.  Nice neat way to keep all the info together.

I would get the 9900k its only 100 dollars more,, 2 more cores 4 threads and a promise from Intel, coughs,, that the chip can do 5Ghz with turbo option.  However you have to change your voltages like 1.3v or 1.32 or 1.33v for 5Ghz operation. Aso turn on LLC to the max.

1. The cooler chose is the DR4, not Pro 4.

 

2. The board is quite underwhelming

 

3. Case has bad airflow

 

4. RTX 2070 itself is kinda overpriced for what it can do comparing to 2080 and 2060

 

5. HP EX920 1TB gives twice the capacity for a slight performance drop
