Optimizing windows

AndreiArgeanu

Hi, I have a windows 10 tablet with an atom cpu and 2gb of ram and was is mainly used for streaming apps which aren't available on my tv box such as netflix. Now I also use it for travelling as my gaming laptop is too bulky to carry around.

Unfortunately the bios of this tablet is very quirky and I tried to but don't know how to get windows 7 on to it + the risk that I might break the tablet and not be able to get an OS back on it. Now what I want to do is basically remove as much of the windows 10 features as much as I can especially the ones that are intensive on the hardware like the antivirus and malware service (not useful anyway as I install from trusted sources). Now I don't need a lot of functionality or windows 10 features like cortana.

NO reason to get rid of those spyware virus apps, just simply turn off Real Time Protection, as they will give delay on launch of application as it has to check for viruses first before launching.  Slows down system big time.  I have all my shH*T loaded in background , Defender, Malwarebytes spybot and superantispyware.  I manually right click on downloaded file and check it with all of these.  Sometimes however malwarebytes can give a false alarm.  Use them in the background but 2GB ram is better to even run in background alto real time protection is off.  Just right click files and check with these apps.  :}

You can still have defender in the background but you turn of real time protection so every file doesn't have to go through a scan before it launches.  I got my defender running but the real time protection is off.  Also also have malwarebytes and spybot and spyware running in the background but NO real time scanning.  I do it manually.  You have only 2GB of ram so the more you get rid of the faster the computer.  you can always disable your protection apps but still get the right click context menu come up where you can scan for viruses or malware with the apps mentioned above.
