are intel cpus right now(like 6th to 9th gen) still performs like the old i series cpus 2nd to 4th when it comes to performance and ipc, or like my grandma used to say “old is better”??? cuz some says that older i series had great potential(higher ipc, high oc capabilites and whatnot)

my 6th gen cpu wouldn't oc, 7-9 just more cores and slightly better clocks, same ipc, 2nd-4th gen is more like zen 1 with less cores.

Well while AM3 had its faults it was appreciated, plus i do think AMD did learn from that experience a little.

Plus there is such thing as if it aint broke dont fix it, a concept Intel has no idea about

Can't have it both ways.

People complain about them being still skylake for years and there's this response

Thing is with intel it is still skylake even now.

Intel has done little innovation over the years,

At least the jump between AM3 to AM4 makes sense compared to the nonsensical socket changes for intel.

Heck i will even defend the AMD FM socket as again it kind of made sense as the FM line was targeted at a different audience than AM3 (same goes for threadripper)
