I work in a mix between a mac and windows environments and I wanted a mechanical keyboard to help add some sanity to that. I was hoping to find a board which would allow key remapping and save that in on-board memory. Hopefully I could have two profiles so that I could switch between mac and windows key setups. The reason I wanted this to be on board memory was so I could plug in into either type of os and have it just work without needing drivers or client software.

My preference would be for cherry mx brown switches. I like back lighting but it's not a requirement.

Hopefully someone out there understands my pain and can give a recommendation.

Virtually all custom keyboards have this ability.

The guide looks like it was for moving the keycaps around. This is not what I'm looking for, I want to remap the key presses. So the switch that normally is the windows key will fire a ctrl keypress instead. I'll do other things as well but that is an example.
