Fallout New Vegas Low FPS

Jogostar

Hello Folks!

I started playing Fallout NV again.

Problem is, that my fps drop down to 35-40 fps near cities.

It's really annoying, I tried lowering my settings. Gave me ~5 fps.

Disabled all my mods, still no improvement.

Rig:

i5 3570k @4Ghz

8GB @1600 Mhz RAM

ASUS GTX 770 OC 2GB

Any help is appreciated. :)

Something is definitely wrong. Even with my set-up, I never drop below 60fps at maxed out settings!

Oneplus 6 | Sony 55" X900F . Lenovo Y540 17" 144Hz RTX 2060 . i7 9750h.

Audio-GD DAC-19MK3 > Schiit Lyr 2 + > FOSTEX TH900 . Sony XBA-Z5

did that, was staying at 60-70% in cities and 30-40% in flat areas which was strange.

Try a reinstall? The saves should be safe from that since if I remember correctly they're in a different folder.

I think I may know a solution or two. The problem with the engine is that it only uses 2GB of ram. With this patch you can increase the count to 4GB. Additionally you can perhaps try the ENB patch. Ultimately it's made to improve the overall experience and takes more performance, but with it's updated DirectX layer I think it introduces some bug fixes as well. Won't hurt to try at least :) Though you may already have both these mods... if not: I highly recommend them.

Turns out, that a mod called "Project Reality" was my probelm.

Apparently it is a FPS killer. Even on higher end systems.

Well, thanks for your help guys! :)

Okay, now I reinstalled the game, and didn't use Project Reality.

But now the game is unplayable, iut freezes every 5 seconds for 2 seconds.

Now I'm getting temperature spikes and GPU usgae spikes.

I just want to play New Vegas......

What was the course of events that caused this to happen? Everything was going fine then it just plummets...

i was walking out of Doc Mitchells house, and started talking to the robot. Then it happend.

Restarted the game, and now it works fine again. But had a crash in Primm.

I can live with crashes, as long as they are not every 5 minutes. ^^
