Hi beautiful people!

I'm running now an MSI laptop with an i7 and a 970m slightly overclocked but I decided it's time to grow up and make my own path!

I live in Germany my budget is around 2500 euros and i have peripherals.

I only need it for gaming 1080p 144hz and i would like to get as much horsepowers as possible out or my bucks!

I can't really make up my mind if I need a 2080ti and go cheaper on other things or a 2080 would be enough. From what I read for 144hz gaming I would get the most of an 9900 but it comes with a cost.

I am probably gonna order the components next week so any help is welcome!

Sorry for my English and I wish you all a nice Sunday!

€ 2500 is a big budget, so I just went crazy on this theoretical build. You can swap out the AIO cooler for normal fan cooling if you want I guess.

spending 2500 euros for a 1080p 144hz would be complete overkill, so i added in a 1440p 100hz ultrawide monitor in.

Similar to Herman's spec but with a different res monitor. I agree that spending this much should warrant a better monitor than a 1080p/144Hz.

Monitor is just a placeholder as there are quite a few choices for 1440p/144Hz+. The new Gigabyte Aorus Freesync screen is another option but not sure if it is still pre-order.

I mean, you all are probably right about the monitor, but I bought it a couple months ago and I think I will keep it for a while before upgrading! Thanks a lot for all the suggestions!

I think I may be more inclined to go with a rtx rather than a Radeon But I will inform myself about pros and cons of both before making my decision!

you can keep it and use it along with a new monitor, the radeon 7 is slightly cheaper but performs a slight bit worse.

Atm I am not really interested in getting a new monitor, and this year I would be more interested in just getting a beast to be able to let me game 1080p high fps for several years, I went over my budget but could be fine on this build, I am going to OC it as soon as it gets on my desk. Here is what looks like a good plan to me, what would you change?

you're really just wasting money at this point, so many levels of overkill for just a 1080p 144hz rig. spend the money on a better monitor instead.

I hear you on the monitor thing, and it's something I will definitely do. I will probably be getting one in the future, my first aim is now to have a build that lasts as long as it can, and I am into liquid cooling thus why the aio and the Hybrid card. I would love a custom one but I don't think I can make one without experience even if YouTube can help a lot.

If you can wait a bit, zen 2 will have 16 core CPUs compared to 8 on coffeelake, makes for a better upgrade path in the future. If you're sticking to intel the maximus hero is overpriced so stick to the gigabyte aorus boards. You don't need a 970 evo, nvme doesn't make anything futureproof. Get a regular atx case instead of a test bench.

I could wait, but since there is always something new to wait for I am not sure I want to, I would just starting postponing endlessly! This build actually looks very very good! Thanks a lot for all the help you gave me and sorry if I went on your nerves
